CAR JUKE BOX

This small independent record company started his life in Milan in late 50's simply called Juke Box, first with italian pop singers and then producing some good italian beat groups in the mid-60's. 
Since 1967 the old JN and JR singles series (that arrived around number 2400) was discontinued and a new label design was adopted with the new CAR Juke Box logo, where the letters CAR were the initials of label's founder name, Carlo Alberto Rossi, who also owned the Fonorama studios in Milan. 
Singles started their numbering sequence from CRJ-NP 1000 (or 1001 ?), while albums started from CRJ LP 330001, then the initial "33" was deleted following the same numbering order.

The new label was particularly active in releasing the then exploding beat bands' singles, and it was on the CAR JB label that one of the most influential 60's album of the whole italian rock scene, Ad gloriam by Le Orme, was issued. While the label has always been connected with Le Orme's name among the music collectors, it also issued some very nice (and rare) albums by the likes of Laser, I Santoni, Richard Last Group and Alberomotore (whose LP was one of the latest releases on the label, and was soon reissued on Intingo).

The typical Car JB label is deep red with silver lettering, but some of the early albums (including L'aurora by Le Orme) were released with a black/silver label keeping the same design and logo as the original ones.

Since around 1969, with a new distribution deal with Ariston, the singles had a new label with light blue/black background and red rim, sporting a more modern Car JB logo. 
Around 1972-73 the label passed under Ricordi's distribution. The last known album was from Alberomotore, and this LP has a cartoon-like label, that was probably used only this time.
